Since the UK Government started its Net Zero initiative, there have been many changes in its Energy Company Obligation Scheme, popularly known as the ECO4 Scheme. In the latest version of the ECO4 Grant, some qualifying benefits from previous versions have been removed while some new ones have been added.
Under the ECO Scheme, energy suppliers are obligated to help improve the energy – efficiency of UK homes. In operation since 2013, this Scheme was launched taking into consideration the current fuel poverty crisis along with the Earth’s environmental crisis. The current phase, ECO4, is expected to run till March 2026. According to Government figures, over 3.6 million energy – saving measures have been installed in over 2.4 million homes since the start of this Scheme.
